SAWS will help meet the city's water needs for decades to come.

SAWS Brackish Groundwater Desalination Project

The SAWS Brackish Groundwater Desalination Project aims to develop an untapped natural resource for the benefit of the entire region and community. The goal is to draw, treat and use brackish groundwater water to diversify our water supply by generating up to 12 MG of “Finished” water per day from the brackish Wilcox Aquifer.

Through this effort, it’s projected that this supplemental water supply will help meet the city’s water needs over the next 50 years. In addition, the SAWS Brackish Groundwater Desalination Project will serve as an economic improvement tool by creating many opportunities for local and regional contractors and subcontractors alike.
